Need new tank for 2010 iron
Wife went down on her brand new 883 iron, turning left and hit the front brake at about 10 mph and down she went. Spraind wrist and really really hurt feelings. Damage to bike is a lower triple tree left stop broke, handle bar kissed tank, and left side engine cover and left side mirror, hand controls and left rear turn signal are all trashed. Big items are the tank and lower triple tree. Anyone have any idea what this is going to cost me, all the other items are no biggie.

Are you sure the tank isn't able to be saved? Some pics would help. I had a major dent in the side of a tank years ago. After draining it, removing it from the bike, I used an air compressor with a blowing tip and a rubber donut that sealed tight around the tip. Stuck the tip and donut over the filler hole, pressing firmly to seal things, and gently filled the tank with air until the dent popped out.

No this tank is trash, the handle bars kissed it pretty bad. the left stop on the triple tree broke and it is pushed in about 3/4 inch right on the top at the bend and the frt mount brackets are bent as well. It will be a wall decor for the garage now. Also when it landed on the left side the foot shifter bent the shift shaft also it looks like. Going to have to look into that one alittle more, if so that will be expensive i am sure. will have pics up tomorrow i hope.

I'm going to be selling a nightster tank, and triple tree set next week... i've replaced my tank and having mid glides installed this week. might be selling handle bars and risers, and rear stock nightster shocks too.... and i'll have some new-ish licks chrome 10" rear shocks with less that 100 miles. tired of scraping pegs with those short shocks! the front wheel and tire are going to be sold too.

Some people dig it, some don't. I don't think harley would have put it on the 48 if they didnt think people would like it? I personally have always loved the older smaller tank. The 48 tank gives all the people with injection a second option now.

And the tiny "48" tank would be the THIRD option. You have the 4.5 gallon Custom tank, the 3.3 gallon peanut tank, and now the 2.2 gallon "48" tank.
