I'm new to the forum here, and thought I'd post my 2011 48. It's mostly stock right now with the exception of a backseat and sissy bar.
Still at the dealer waiting to be scooped up:

My brother, my dad, and I all got bikes in the same week from the dealer.
And here is how it sits as of now:

Where do the mini apes come from for the 48's that are not rounded and have the bracket with holes at the 90 degree where it turns to the hand controls? I saw them a LOT while reading through this thread but couldn't find the name, nor make and model. How difficult is it to install? How comfortable/uncomfortable is it for longer rides?

Thanks a lot.

Sounds like the Road 6 bars: http://www.road6customs.com/online-s...roduct=1136438

I just bought a pair myself and should have them by the end of next week.

Those are the ones! You rock.
Definitely let us know how difficult it is to install the handlebars + controls!

Will do. It'll probably be 2-3 weeks before I get around to it, but I'll post some pics when they're on the bike.

CP, those brass caps look tight!!!

Cheapest place to get rear black peg mounts? YourAd.. he knows the secrets.
unless someone has some for sale.

(but black)

I assume to move my stock front pegs back here, then get something better for the front pegs. (something black/flat/better than stock)

I installed 12" z-bars last month on my 48. If you are only looking at 8" bars, you can probably use stock cables and lines. "mini apes" which are normally considered 10-12" will need new cables and lines. It a price of cake unless you do your wires internal. I did mine in the bars, and I'm way glad I did, but it was a beast to install. Took like 3 evenings for
me (a first-time internal wiring job).

Comfort- I am 5'-9" and I am loving my 12" bars. My arms are just less than straight across. Mine are 32" wide which is just right for me.
