So title Says Sept. 18-19. Are most people planning on coming in Friday night (17th)instead? Also any specific "ride out" time planned for Saturday? Last question - Any hotels nearby? (Sorry, had to ask, I am a girl and I don't have room for a tent on my sporty!)

 

Johnson City or Bristol are the closest Hotel/Motel. Each is about a 45min ride to the store at Shady Valley.

Rentalguy1 and/or I can meet you and ride you out to the Valley if you need.

 

I might be coming, but I'll be staying at a hotel in Bristol. I'm in the military and tired of sleeping on the ground, air mattress or a cot. I need to make sure I can get off work. I'll be on my 09 Sportster. I'm at Fort Campbell, KY.

 

hey how about planning/leading the group ride on saturday?

 

I think I'm going to take Friday off and head out around noon and do a little riding on the BRP while getting there and take it easy since it'll be my first road trip.

According to Certainteed, there are 2 cabins at the camp site and I think each cabin has 4 bunk beds so if there are 4 female riders in the group, I'm sure we can reserve one for you guys. I was initially thinking about the cabin but I decided to man up and try the tent thing...although I'm not even sure my old *** tent is even waterproof anymore.

 

I can lead folks to Shady Valley from Bristol, but I'm not sure how much of the actual ride I'll be able to do. It will depend on how my back is doing.

I can lead rides or ride drag. Doesn't matter to me. I'm thinking of sleeping over there friday night maybe, I'm 51 and have more than the usual aches and pains. And being so close.....sleeping at home in our cozy bed with the wife or on hard cold/wet gound alone.....hmmmm, I'll think about it.

rentalguy1: gotcha.. not problem. someone will step up. if not, i'll plan something for saturday.

catlkn: i hate to see you throw good money away at a hotel. the cabins are cheap and very clean. we can dedicate a cabin for the ladies. no problem. being at the camp grounds will give you a chance to see how we pack our bikes and what equipment works. and my girlfriend would enjoy meeting another lady rider.

jbyun: if your tent leaks i have a spare tarp in my gear.
