Default Tank and fender question?

Will a tank and rear fender from a 2010 XL883N fit a 2009 1200N nightster?
I am not worried about the emc hole as that is going to be relocated.

Yes, since they're the same tank and fender. The only difference between the two bikes is engine size and color.

Which then bodes the question: Why?

I need new tins due to damage and found a good buy. Also was thinking of doing a solo seat and the 2010 doesn't have the emc hole in the rear fender so that wouldn't be an issue. I still don't think I would be able to bring myself to use the tank.

Why not? Same tank. Just get it painted the way your old one was.
