Any shock will work for some people, some of the time...RK's included. Depends on the State you live in too. Come up to New England and that is where the rubber meets the road or not. A friend of mine who used to ride a Road King took my Nightster for a backroad blast the other day and he said it was "Night and Day" different than the RK's that were on there before. One up, not two, was his test. Less than 200 lb. rider on awful roads. - I do get that the RK's are inexpensive. That's great. But the nice thing about having less money in my bank account (having bought custom built shocks) is that I can pull over to the side of the road, any time, any where and adjust my preload and rebound and compression as much as I like. The Preload on the Ohlins or Penske is a threaded collar that will adjust about three inches. The rebound and compression is countless clicks in the more or less direction. I can also pull the shocks off and easily change the spring and I can adjust the length give or take about a centimeter. - End of the day, if the RK's are working, great. - I like to be able to adjust mine. Pics in my albums on my profile.
