that may change, next week my custom tripple tree will arrive so I can install a full set of xr1200 suspension. I already have the forks, shocks, front dyna wheel, caliper, and xr1200 axle with bearings and spacers waiting, all that is missing is the tripple trees, they were shipped today from FL, so withing 2 weeks or so it should have a full xr suspension!!!

Cavi - nice job coming along.

Question: What is the make and model of the tank you are using? Where did you get it? I have a 2002 XLH and want to put a stretch tank on. Thanks.

the brush dripped on one of the flames, of course that destroied the flame. So I decided to proceed and retouch the flame and finish, if for no other reason than to see how it was going to look. Well the tank looks great, it would need a wet sand and then final clear coats as the first coat went on a bit too thick and too orange peal. however I can spot the patch work on the flame as soon as the light hits it, so I guess I need to get the courage up and start over. I have more than enough paint left, it is just that other than the small deffect, about 1 cm in size, it look fantastic.
To avoid your exacto cuts, just use 1/4" or 1/8" masking tape and do them by hand. Don't use anything sharp.

http://motorcyclemetal.com/gpage33.html

this is who made it for me, most of the other options are not perfect as the handlebar mount is part of the top tripple on the XR1200 and most of the aftermarket tripples. I wanted to still use my drag bars and have a unique setup. The price is not for the feint of heart, but it is cool. mine will arrive tomorrow, I will post pictures before I send it to the shop. Either way, you need a xr1200 axle and spacers, a dyna wheel, newer as it has to accept the 25mm bearings, and you want to have a newer caliper. Last you will need to go to a bottom mount headlight.
