ok, One more pipe question....
I just checked out Vance & Hines web site, and it seems that they will have 2 different pipes available for "07"s by January.... including thier fuel pack system.....
here goes......
they have a slip on set.... Which are longer.......
and then they have the staggered shorties..... which look really cool as well..... which i think mounts right to the engine.....
My question is ....Is their any difference performance wise on the Length of the pipes............ ?? or is it just for looks....

RE: ok, One more pipe question....
I emailed V&H about performance about the two types. Reply was the same for both. About 3-4 extra horses and 6-7 extra ft/lbs torque. The shorter pipes just sound louder (by louder I mean more of a high pitched sound) The longer pipes are a deeper sound. This is true of all pipes because of the distance the gasses have to travel from the engine.

Whatever you do, I don't think you can go wrong with anything from V&H.
I went through a 2-lane, curved-ceiling tunnel riding a back road on Monday and WOW! Never heard anything so sweet!
I know my Sporty sounded like a riding mower with the stock mufflers. Plus without a tach and not being able to hear the engine above 40 mph, I felt really disconnected from knowing what the bike was doing when selecting gears.
Believe me, even with the 'quiet baffles' in my slip-ons, this is no longer a problem!
Have fun!
