Hey man congrats on the bike ! Im 21 5'9 155 lbs and I fit the bike perfect ... some say its underpowered and all that B.S but let me tell you I ride with crotch rockets all the time and have no problems keeping up ( unless they go over 115 which is right around give or take 8 mph where our bike maxes out at ... had the throttle pinned for a few miles in fifth gear and the speedo read 110 and my buddies r6 digital read 114 but theres always % error ) ... overall I could not be happier with the bikes quality and ride ! Do not regret for a minute getting the 883 and if one day u want more power get a 1200 conversion ! good luck with it and ride safe

Yeah them Sportsters,,,
Only those that ride em know,,,
09IronRider,,be smart and ride It to the 1,000 mile marker before you
change a single thing.
You need to learn the Baseline of a Sportster and Street riding.
Use caution when buying Bling,,,
Lots of good stuff out there and lots of crap.
Worst thing Is when a New Owner gets all horney over this or that thing,,
Buys It,,Puts It On the Bike,,then a week goes by and he/she see's three or
four better looking, performing, handling, comfort Options..
These bikes are the most Outstanding blank canvas you can buy.
Customization Is a passion,,addiction.
They can become a Vampire to your wallet If you make Impulse buys.
I know what your bike needs more than anything else,,,,,miles, lots of miles
Here endeth the Lesson

I had mine 3 years and I just started cutomizing it. Take your time and do your research. The best investment you can make is a service manual!!! This is like my Bible. More importantly like Osco said, put some miles on it first!!!
