Default Any inherent problems with '05 Sporty

My friend is looking at a 2005 1200 custom and has asked my advise. I ride a Harley but don't know much about Sportsters. Can you tell me anything to look for in this purchase? The bike has 12,000 miles on it. I know to ask if it has been dropped and to look at all the service records. What else?
Thanks

2005 had problems with valve guide seals. Check the plugs for oil.

Thanks Drew. That sounds like a deal killer. I can do maintenance and minor repairs but I'm not comfortable getting into the engine (especially someone elese's bike). Any idea how much a dealer will charge?
