I have a noticable engine vibration in every gear - most noticable between 45 - 50 mph in 4th and 55 - 60 mph in 5th gear where I often want to cruise. Dealer says it is normal but it is a bit annoying at these cruising speeds. Below and above these speeds it is smooth and very enjoyable - makes me wonder why just this rpm range would have a vibration. Dealer did the high-flow air cleaner/jet/cycle shack slip-on upgrade. I did not ride the bike as stock so I am unsure if the vibration was there before.
Anyway, any thoughts or opinions are appreciated. (1st post by the way)
Thanks

I notice vibration in my 1200 around 3000rpm (I have an R, so I have a tach). But I can cruise around 45-50 in 4th gear at ~2500rpm nice and smooth and on the highway in 5th 60-70 vibrates but anything above or below is smooth, its worst right around 65mph. Seems to be normal for these bikes, I think.

A while ago I posted a question about post 2004 vibration. Got to ride one a while ago 2007 883C , thursday, last week. I always interpreted vibration as buzzing. At idle, I noticed the machine thumped and/or pulsed beneath me! ****ing loved It!!!!! At all speeds never noticed a thing in the vibration stakes. (Vibration to me is an annoying buzzing.) Grips footpegs etc. I ride a 250 Virago that has vibration!!!. Never noticed anything uncomfortable on the 883, solid and smooth. I mention to the Dealer that it was suprisingly smooth. He replies, yes the 883 is a fantastic machine, I want a 1200, he says its a little more lumpy. They don't have a demonstrator model as yet, he says two weeks away. Will test ride then. But for lack of a better explanation small motors vibrate (annoying) numb fingers. Larger engines seem to pulse at idle, and to me and my short experience smooth out while diving. ****, if you drive a four cylinder car it buzzes, if you drive a V8 it pulses, thumps, to me one is annoying, the other speaks of power. This probably wont help but like ****** said Sportsters vibrate. To me this seems to be an interpretation based on experince of riding sportsters. To the point, ride a piece of **** buzz box like the virago for a while then get back on your sportster and enjoy the feel of riding something that is comparatively comfortable.
