Most, but not all batteries have a date of manufacture on them. The month is indicated by a letter 'A' being January and a number '4' being 2004. C4 would tell us the battery was manufactured in March 2004. The letter "i" is not used because it can be confused with #1.

The one I was asking about is a HD battery. Mine looks like this:

The circles on the right side are months and numbers. The white square what had "D9" in this pic, could that be the year? Mine has "D11" printed on it.

I bought one of the X2 batteries for mine today...I did a little research, and it seems the Harley batteries and the Batteries Plus X2 batteries are made by the same manufacturer, only different branding and case for the respective private labels.

I seriously doubt you'll get 5+ years on the battery plus battery that you bought like you got with the OEM one.

Like everything else, you get what you pay for.
Yeah, sometimes you just get the sticker thats stuck on the same product, and pay 20-30-% more for it, but if it makes you feel better, than who are we to judge?

Amen to that brother!!! Most companies purchase private labels from all the other manufacturers, Harley is a prime example.

Found this thread searching google for a replacement battery for my 2012 XL1200CP. Mine shows C12 on the label. Problem is its dead and my fancy battery charger displays "bad bat". Not that I'm going to ride in 20 degree weather but....
Supposed to have a 2 year warranty so I'll call the dealer tomorrow. If they give me a hard time it will be Batteries Plus in the spring.
