Osco, I use my 34 years of Heavy Vehicle Training I received at the phone company when riding, searching 12 seconds ahead, it was called Zone Control Driving, you had five zones, front, rear, right and left and "me". The object is to see a changing zone, check your other zones and try to improve your position. When searching 12 seconds ahead you just observe the road surface more when on the bike.

Great stuff. . Can't afford any more speeding tickets, so I set the cruise at 5 mph over the limit and the road takes care of itself. So pay attention and ride safe.

I find they all have about the same effect. The slipping and sliding is enough to make most people park their bike for a few minutes. So far the worst I've endured was glycol (liquid de-icer) tha is used on the roads in nw washington. Came into the corner doing 20mph and next thing I know it feels like I'm riding dirt track with absolutely no traction and the ground is coming fast. I slid about 15-20ft the bike went off the road down the little hill and stopped just under the guard rail thankfully not touching any part of it. Dislocated shoulder, bruised hip, $1700 in damage (thank you insurance) an 1 week later I was off on a road trip. Felt like I had been hit by a freight train the next morning I literally had to roll out of bed onto my hands and knees.

Great thread Osco I've pushed my Nightsters performance well past where it was meant to and now it's getting a cafe treatment to include a mono shock rear end.

When I rode through Custer Park last year it was Bison in one part of the park and donkies in another. No fences along the road. Here I am on a stone bridge in the Park.

You should do a video to demonstrate your techniques. I really appriciate this thread. Dialogue like this makes me think about how I ride. There is always room for improvement. Thanks again.
