can't remove air cleaner cover
#13
I got the screws loosened with my impact driver and a #3 bit. I was going to try the chisel and hammer suggestion, but thought I would try the impact driver one more time. I gave it a few sharp raps with a small hammer while pushing in and turning it in the proper direction. To my surprise, it loosened on the fourth or fifth rap. That gave me confidence and I did the same thing to the other one. The only thing I did different than my first try was I hit the impact driver harder. I didn't know what was behind the chrome cover and I didn't want to damage anything. I've used a impact driver before and broke a ear off a engine case of a motorcycle I was trying to restore. I thought the engine case would have been stronger. I learned my lesson about swinging a hammer towards my engines. When I put the screws back in I used anti-seize on the theads to help avoid this problem in the future.
