Thanks, but that's not in the cards.

Is the expected low end torque loss noticeable seat of pants?

I recently put some 2" rush slip ons on my 2011 48 and the difference in sound from stock is astounding. It is VERY loud but sounds mean as hell. I think it is running rich because when I accelerate and then let off it backfires... even see a flame or two out the ***-end.

I plan on getting an intake and remap to lean it out and make some more power out of that unburnt gas blowing out my tailpipe!

With our 2.00" baffle slip on, you should expect around a 5hp gain and similar tq gain. That is just from installing the slip ons on a stock bike. If you add a high flow air filter and tuner, even greater performance gains are possible.

Off topic a bit - but my (late) first wife had Cobra pipes on her Vulcan 800 and it had that nice throaty rumble, whereas my (identical model) Vulcan with V&H pipes was louder but not as pleasant.

That said, Cobra doesn't have anything for the 2000 XL1200C. The SEII slip-ons I have now aren't bad, but perhaps a set of Rush plus a free-breathing AC are in the Sporty's future?

Uh I think you have that bass-ackwards, my guess is it's not rich

Do NOT lean your bike out.

That black stuff is probably something in the new exhaust burning off...oil or if there is packing, that could be burning off a bit.

A less restrictive exhaust does NOT make you run richer, it makes you run leaner.
