Hello and welcome to the best place to talk shop & other $hit.

I bought my 08 1200 XLC 105th anny with bags & small shield, the shield worked but seemed small to me so I enlarged it to the max, added skirting & other stuff to make mine a real custom, kinda like Harleys are suppose to be.

Buffeting sometimes is an issue depending on the wind speed & direction but you cant beat doing 85 with one hand for extended periods.

You will like the bike!

I have Memphis Shades with quick release mounts on both the bikes. Fats on the Dyna and Slim on the Sportster, both 17" high. I'm 5'7" and I can see over the top on them when riding.

Knocks the wind down pretty well, better with the Slim on the Sporty I think because I sit up closer to the sheild than on the Dyna. Takes away the whistle in my ears with a half helmet on so I don't wear earplugs anymore.

Paid about $290 for the sheild and mount from Motorcycle Superstore w/ shipping, cheapest I could find online.

The OL has one from the Memphis Shades Sport line. The Del Rio:

She's about 5'4" and loves it. When I ride her bike (6'), it beats the hell out of me.

I have a HD Sport, 18" I believe. It really cuts down on fatigue when on the highway. It's quick detachable and I don't use it when riding in town.

To me, the 14" tinted windvest is the best shield out there. There is a used one in the classifieds right now that will fit your bike

Windshield, some people love it, some people hate it, like me.. when I go for a long run I used a 3/4 helmet with shield...in town without shield...I like the freedom, feel the air, the bugs, the sand, the smell of oil, rubber. By the end is your choice, whatever make u feel good...ride safe

I got a quick release windshield I bought it at my local HD shop and he was nice enough to put it together for me.....I use it when I am doing a longer freeway ride it makes a huge difference...don't really like how it looks but oh well.
