Horsepower
1st post on the forum. Would like to know how to get the most HP out of my 1200 Custom 2003, along with the most torque. I've been told that a Mikuni carb, some racing style cams, a special ignition, some Buehl thunder heads and a two in one muffler system will produce 90-95 HP throughout the speed range, not just top end. Right now it produces 75HP on the dyno and I'm just not happy with it. Still, I don't want something that rattles like it's going to fall apart every time I ride it. Maybe I can't have both but I've talked to so many people with so many opinions that I'm not sure what is true any more. Would appreciate an answer from anyone who KNOWS. Don't want to spend the money and then be disappointed.
Thanks.
Thanks.

If you want a super-fast Harley, you should keep the bike you have, know it's not going to go "****-your-pants fast" and pick up a used Honda or Suzuki 600 or something along those lines as well. 2 bikes is always better than 1 anyway!
Then you'll have everything you're looking for!
Good luck.

I went from stock to 74 hp, 74 ft lbs, by just installing a Performance Machine air cleaner (K&N), drilling out the baffle plate in the stock pipes (3/4"), and getting a SE Supertuner, then taking it to a dyno tuner to reprogram the fuel inj map. This is on my '08 1200R.
Plenty of power for my needs. If I want to go faster, I'll get an Aprilia.
