Sportster reduced effort clutch kit
Hi all . My wife saw a Harley Davidson clutch release update kit somewhere on her online wanderings that had the HD part number listed. Neither of us can find it now and my dealer's parts man isn't aware of its existence. Can anyone supply that number? TIA Clint

RE: Sportster reduced effort clutch kit
The one you install inside the derby cover won't work on alot of sportsters.I bought an AMP power clutch from J&P cycles for around $80 and it reduced the effort by about 50%.It is a simple bolt on operation and may take 20 minutes tops.It goes right up by the clutch lever and looks like it belongs there. You can get a chrome model for about $20 more.here is a link to the power clutch. http://www.jpcycles.com/productgroup...=Harley&page=1

Maybe your wife meant this? VPC
Tried it and for my 99 RKC it reduces the needed musclepower by 35%, it will only do so at lower revs, if you're a high rev. shifter you won't have much benefit from it.
Try to google somewhat more for the reseller in the US since I believe it is an American made product.
I'm having it installed soon, together with my bigbore operation[8D]

Hurray ! We finally found it. HD part # 36808-05. That's the good news. The bad news is that it turns out to be for Twin Cam models only. We did find an aftermarket kit that should do the job, however. Gonna give it a try and will report back. http://www.phaedruscycle.com/

relli if your clutch bothers you something is wrong unless they changed the clutch from 06 to 07.I have an 06 883L and the the clutch is so easy to pull it felt funny at first and took some getting used to because of that.My clutch is easier to pull than my wifes is even after installing the reduced effort kit on hers. Not by much but you can still tell.
