New 48 RSD Cafe Racer??
I'm back now after a 1-year hiatus and just bought my 4th Harley. I had to start again from scratch as a new member here again. Has anyone turned their 48 into a cafe style racer? Any pics? I'm trying to decide which direction to go. Any help is much appreciated.

Paging WildThang.

Go to youtube. Search "RSD Sportster".
|
Oh, and usually cafe racers didn't have a wide front tire, FYI.
|
True. I suppose of all the 48's here his is the most cafe-ish though.
|
Paging wildthang!

Lol!!!

Lighten up francis. So he has money to spend to make his bike his..why does that bother you so much. At least hes done more than scratch up his derby cover and put a retarded looking headlight cover on.
Seems there are many on this forum whose goal in life is slam other peoples stuff...I dont get it. |

excuse me ? when did you become so informed on what ive done to my bike. Im sorry i dont feel like i have to create a thread anytime i change a bolt on my bike, though im sorry i havent kept you well informed about my changes. Also not that its important but my headlight has no cover its a whole unit. And I dont bash "peoples" bikes just wildthangs cause thats the biggest abortion of a motorcyle ive ever seen, total H.O.G. material. |
I actually like his bike. I've always subscribed to the 'less is more' philosophy, but I think he made a goal and went about achieving it very well. I think that is admirable. Much more admirable that some 'Internet badass' that hides behind his keyboard throwing proverbial snowballs at other people's property.
|
And I dont bash "peoples" bikes Theres a couple guys in the 48 thread that have those giant headlights and honestly to me it looks like there motorcycles have down sydrome or hydrocephalus or something of the like. a 7" headlight is going to be giant and look like ass. please dont lift your tank, its like the ugliest thing you can do to a bike! it goes right under there where you hang your vagina......gremlin bells, jeez whats next goblin tassles... It looks like a fat person sat on it and broke the bikes back. |
Meh more of an opinion than a bash. I hate those 7" headlights as well. Just personal preference.
Those crime scene choppers Rapides lights are the tits just way too pricy for my taste. |
An opinion is "I hate those 7" headlights as well" a bash is "a 7" headlight is going to be giant and look like ass."
|
Can't we all just get along and ride off into the sunset on our girls bikes?

p.s. All rude comments aside I still wouldnt call wildthangs bike a cafe, though he has alot of "cafe" accessories, a cafe tradionally sits higher and has a narrow 18"-21" front wheel for handling. |

To all...Forrest has his right to opinions...doesn't bother me a bit what he likes or dislikes....
Its my bike...I can do what I want to it...if you like it fine...if you don't - its your problem not mine.... |
WildThang, that's what I was looking for, a more than average customization on a 48. I love it!!

hardly, i have the same motorcycle minus all the crap...i mean accessories hes added to it. That motorcyle is one set of tassles away from a carnival ride. And wildthang just cause im not some geriatric with more money than style does not mean that im a "little boy". Im sorry this board and the internet has given you some false pretense your bike is cool, but in reality it is some hobbled together abomination that looks like you picked up a parts catalog and ordered anything that was black and would fit your bike. i have a feeling you dont ride anyhow, which is probably for the best so somebody doesn't tear up while laughing at that waste of parts you call a bike and run you over.
|
wow forrest42, This forum is not meant to bash others bikes. Wildthang your bike looks outstanding!
FORREST: What have you done to your bike that isnt out of a catalog? Last time I checked those RSD Tracker 2 into 1 exhaust is a catalog item........................ |

Looks like your kid thinks it's pretty cool, that's proof enough right there in my book. :) |

48's yes, cafe racers, no.
of course it's not completely the traditional cafe racer style , but it's obviously influenced by it . very nice looking bike and just to keep us sort of on topic ... http://www.rolandsands.com/wp/2010/0...e-sportster-3/ |
I have the plan completely in place for my 48's transformation.
However, I don't expect to be posting up pictures of the progress anytime soon as I will need to do the front end, chain drive, wheels/tires, and brakes all at the same time (holy f'n $). I'm still saving up for the exhaust, software, rearsets, and suspension package. :icon_sad: Eventually though, I will have more of a "vintage racer look, modern tech performance" bike than anything. A Manx featherbed would be pretty sweet too, but that's another $2500 I would have to save up. |
