I've done big HD rides on a metric bike, and even there I got compliments on my bike. It hasn't been until I actually ride a HD that I get bagged on my other HD riders lol, go figure right?

Solo said it best, I bought my bike to ride, not to impress people. My sportster is my first HD, but far from my fist bike. I wouldn't say its been my favorite, but it definitely offers a lot that my previous bikes couldn't. Enjoy it and ride safe.

I wouldn't pay that fella any attention. The 48 isn't my style but hey I know a lot of guys really like that type of bike. As far as sportsters getting bashed...only by other harley owners in my experience. We get crap from the BT but I don't even pay them attention. I've gotten more thumbs up on my sporty than I would have ever guessed. Ride that 48 and enjoy it.

 

You got a awsome looking bike, the 48 was the only bike my buddy's and I were looking at the other day at the dealership.

 

i used to think 48's were cool , but then HD came out with the 72 and it's way cooler . so now 48's suck

I owned a Sporty and I don't understand people hating on them , never have , never will . I Loved that bike .

 

Who cares what some D-bag thinks- I know I sure don't. The 48 is a sweet bike.
