2003 Sportster Project
Needing some help guys. My bike broke down the other day at work, chain broke which then broke some other minor stuff.
Some history of this bike. It was a 2003 883C from the factory and I put 20,000ish miles on it. Then I put many upgrades on it making it a 1200, Cams, Carb, intake, Screaming Eagle Jugs, pistons, heads and ignition. I started breaking belts so we moved it to a chain final drive. It now has 51,180 miles on it.
We put a 21 tooth front sprocket and a 51 tooth rear sprocket on it when we did the chain. I dont have any of the old parts and I dont remember what the proper gearing used to be. This was fun when I raced it but now I want to get it back to highway gearing.
I am going to keep it a chain final drive but am looking for some good advice on what size sprockets to put on it. It currently has very high RPM's going 80mph down the freeway. I dont have a tach so I cant tell you the numbers, but it is quite uncomfortable to cruise at 80 for any length of time.
Thanks for help!
