Yea I agree the stock EFI bikes are lean, but that's more likely to present an issue in stop & go traffic than out on the highway with plenty of air flow. There's lots of stock bikes running around in the southern heat that don't exhibit the OP's symptoms.

No doubt they are lean and could benefit from a tuner or XiED's. But it should not cut out at hi-speed cruising. Something else is wrong.
