To apehanger, or not to apehanger..
I love the look for sure.. but I have no clue of how tall I wanna go..
I've seen some 16" out there, but that looks a little too much.. then again, I'm 6'3" tall.. Suggestions pls! Thanks |
don't. im looking at your bike and thinking you'll be lucky if you can do 40mph.

Go 16" or go home! Seriously, I had 16"s on my bike and I'm only 5'5" tall. They were more comfortable than the 12"s I had on there prior.

I have 12" narrow apes with the 4" custom riser on mine and if anything, I wish I had gone taller.
|
i went 12.5" any taller i would have needed to fuk about with more than the brake cable, taller would be cool, id be up for 16" that would be rad.
as for falling off, i haven't yet.... if you want to go round corners at 250mph you got the wrong bike son ;) but they are much more comfortable when cruising. |

Oh I like the looks on your bike.. how fast can you go before you fall off? lol
Performance, however - when you're turning hard and fast you will feel flex in the bars. You will. |
i'm not talking about falling off. im talking about an all-day run on the interstate. trying to hang onto that thing at 70mph would wear you out.
just a little heads-up: i was on a rigid with apes and foreward controls 20 years ago. i'm not guessing. |

When I want to go fast I ride the VROD! The super nice thing about the tall apes is that just swinging them back or forward a bit can have a HUGE impact on comfort.

Just by looking at people riding with their apes, it looks more comfortable than my current setup (on your shoulders and arms).. That's kinda what I'm going for, plus the cool looks :D |
