i went 12.5" any taller i would have needed to *** about with more than the brake cable, taller would be cool, id be up for 16" that would be rad.
as for falling off, i haven't yet.... if you want to go round corners at 250mph you got the wrong bike son but they are much more comfortable when cruising.
Oh I like the looks on your bike.. how fast can you go before you fall off? lol
When I want to go fast I ride the VROD! The super nice thing about the tall apes is that just swinging them back or forward a bit can have a HUGE impact on comfort.
Performance, however - when you're turning hard and fast you will feel flex in the bars. You will.

Gotcha, well I'm not trying to go too fast.. I ride my bike to work every day and I know my limitations..
I've been riding for a long time now.. going on 10 years if not more, but never rode with apes..
Just by looking at people riding with their apes, it looks more comfortable than my current setup (on your shoulders and arms).. That's kinda what I'm going for, plus the cool looks
i'm not talking about falling off. im talking about an all-day run on the interstate. trying to hang onto that thing at 70mph would wear you out.
just a little heads-up: i was on a rigid with apes and foreward controls 20 years ago. i'm not guessing.
Oh I see.. well I'm not planning to do much interstate riding on the sporty at this time. I'm actually considering getting a big twin in the not so near future so I can ride with the wife in the weekends.
