883 to 1200 Upgrade Questions

Why convert? soo many issues, just find a good used and sell your 883, then you have a solid foundation to build your dream sportster without all the warranty etc issues, gears are correct etc much to consider during conversions and sometimes the mec just gets it wrong so you end-up with more headaches.
My advice, start with a 1200. IMO.

A stage 1 would be a big help also. Best way to get the full advantage of the 1200 kit is to do some head work also. You'll already have the heads off and you can get a basic port and polish job for only a few hundred bucks in most cases. That's where you're gonna unlock the power is in the heads.
If you want your sportster to be a street terror some head work, 1250 Big bore kit, Good 2-1 exhaust, High flow AC, dyno tune and then you can take that thing out and wait for some poor soul to challenge you at a stoplight.

They may have done in the past, but not these days. The only difference is that 'World' XL1200s have 30T trans pulley compared with 29T for US models, all others are US spec. Here in the UK we get the same owners manual as you do in the USA, so you can see this data for yourself.
