Why do people rev their engines at stop lights?
 

I see/hear it all the time...people revving their engines (blipping the throttle) even when the light is far from turning green. Do they like the sound? Do they need to do it to keep their bike from dying? Are they trying to sound macho/fast/cool? Is it a way of saying "hi" to nearby bikers?

There is this certain rpm that if I hit it just right, and only for a very brief second, it sends a targeted vibration to my left nut which causes me to laugh and smile.

They are called revvers not sure why they do it maybe to waste gas & wear out their engine sooner idk but they are everywhere.
I like to hear my bikes idle at a stop they idle so low you would think they are going to die.

Cause they are ***s duh!!!

Also, just getting bored and can't stop thinking about moving again. nothing worse than having to sit a long red light with nowhere to go. so touching on the throttle just makes the feeling better to get goin

Because they can? Same as the ones leaning over to look at their engine as if they want to check it's still there.
Why would you care what others do?

I'll do it if I get caught at a light when I first start out, just to keep it running. Otherwise, I just sit there.
