I went and sat on a 72 today to get a feel for those apes. They are 12" and were just barely below my shoulders. I'm 5'10" and they were pretty darn comfortable. I think a 12"-14" would be just about perfect for my height. Go to your local dealer and bring a tape measure. Sit on a few bikes with apes and see which ones you like.

They're actually 10's with 2" risers. That's the stock HD mini apes. I was told they were 12's too

I put on 14" burly's about a month ago and I will NEVER go back. Im 6'1 and the are right at my sholders.

Anyone have a link to "pinning" your ape's been looking but havent found a DIY and how do you do it with internal wiring?

You just drill a hole through the clamp and bar. Then tap it for a 1/4-20 bolt. I've read that you can do it from the bottom as well as the top. Just depends on what bar clamp you have.

Got 12"RSD Vintage bars with 3" risers...would never go back to a drag bar.
