Oh... I see. That must be the 3mm spacer between the swing arm and caliper mount the OP makes reference to??

yup, but I found that to have the tire/rim (not hub) perfectly centered in the rear, it's more like 3/16" or .1875", where 3mm is .1181". You'll need the same amount removed from the larger spacer or just like I did have a new made at 1.28125". diggnvball on ebay made them both for me for $14.

But does that then impact the alignment between front and back belt pulley?

Apologies for the many questions... just want to make sure that I get it right.

that I couldn't tell you cause I'm running a chain. It shouldn't though as the OP reuses his belt/pulley's and my measurements are a "smidgen" wider, which may or may not affect belt tracking

Cool, tks. I will send diggnvball a message to see if I can order the same ones and keep them stored until I am ready to get the rest. Will keep an eye out on eBay and Craiglist for the wheel...

The Softail Crossbones had 17 rear & 16 front.

Yeah... but like I said, just wanted to see if the overall profile of the bike, on a side view, would look different.

If the overall diameter of the wheel and tire combo is the same (or fairly close) as the stock 16 setup, then there is really not much difference looking at it from the side. Just wanted a photo to confirm. I like the stance the 48 has now... that same stance but with a wider rear wheel/tire combo looks killer...

I hope that made sense...

If the outside diameter of the tire is the same, a 17" would appear less fat.
Many newer tour bikes & the FXDF Fat Bob come with 180mm on 16x5.00 rims.

Does that list sound correct?

I note that in your parts list, the tyre is 180/60/17. The original thread was started by tzrider using a 180/55/17. Michelin Scorcher 11.

Thank you for catching that! Let me try to find the part number for the Scorcher 11... the one listed is for the 31...
