This gave me the push I needed to do mine yesterday. It's a total night and day difference in style and throttle response. One question though, I'm sure it's going to be running very lean now, do I have to take it to the dealership to have the fuel management changed or what? New to me harley.

Did mine yesterday. I did it like madchemist but the problem I had is that the endcaps that I could find were domed on the end instead of flat. Still worked just fine exept it sticks out a little farther so when I kick my feet up on the highway pegs its in the way. So it is coming back off today untell I can find a flate one somewere

They sell 2 types of caps .. one for pvc plumbing (like indoor use) and one for drainage/irrigation systems . The second option has a flat surface.

I had one of those mounted straight to my carb about a year ago with an aluminum adapter. Couldn't move it in any closer to the engine. I hated it. Stuck out to far and it was very unconfortable.
Last week I bought a K&N 56-1400 at AutoZone for under 60 bucks. All I had to do was drill out the bore to 2.125" and the 2 holes in the cover fit the S&S carb and bolted up perfect. Took about 45 minutes.
