Where to mount the amp?

Where to mount the amp?
I trolled this forum and found some ideas but I'm not sure it will work for me.
I have a 2012 XL1200C that I am about to mount a sound system to. I'm not exactly sure what the brand is but it has two speakers that mount to the mirrors on distended S brackets that are individually wired to an amp that is decidedly not waterproof.
My first thought was to mount it under the seat but there is no room in there unless I remove some of the plastic in the bottom of the seat skeleton. My second idea was to mount it somewhere in the electrical compartment but that space is even more crowded.
My last option (since I don't have saddlebags and my fork tool bag is out of reach while riding) was to buy a small sunglass bag (leather) and mount it to the risers and find some way to keep that dry. I don't necessarily like that idea and would like to keep it under the seat.
Any ideas?
p.s. and for those who are going to post "I let my pipes sing to me, radios belong in a car", it's a matter of personal preference and I prefer tunes on my all day rides.
Thank you in advance
