I just used a 1'x6' piece of satinish black vinyl I got off eBay for like $8. I've used 3m vinyl in the past and I will say it's certainly got the quality. It's what I striped my camaro with and it's held for a good couple years and looks good as new. What did you do to Your Sportster Today?-image-2688494437.jpg

Edit: I say satinish because it was supposed to be flat/matte but wasn't exactly.

I just got back to MI. All I did was take her for a quick spin and it's melting all the snow and ice I couldn't dust off of it. Started fine at 4F. Time to detail it, plug it in and wait for roads to clear. And look for a 2wd Ural.

Not shown here but put on passenger pegs for a better riding position, hopefully rear sets soon. Removed rear belt guard, found some shocks from a street glide that I need to install and wrapped the front fork with black athletic tape (got the idea from the forums here, and was great!). Looking for another mirror solution.

Used my mental telepathy to apologize to her for having to spend so much time alone because of the everpresent snow, ice, and single and low teen temps here for the past couple of months...

Looking good!

Mirrors...have you looked at the ones that come off the end of the grips?

Spent the morning working on it, then the afternoon riding it. Rode an '05 Dyna the other day. Liked it pretty well. Motor was much smoother and bike shifter nicer then my '05 Sportster. Was really thinking of buying it. Got to thinking, why is it smoother then my smaller motor? Saw notes about checking the front mount. Sure enough, got at least a turn and a half on it bringing back up 60 ft lbs. Checked the uppers, they were ok. Changed the oil, and adjusted the primary by the book, none of this turn it 'till it whines, and back it off a notch stuff. Wow! I've had the bike about 3k now. about 17k total miles on it. Guess all that stuff changes slow enough that you don't notice with out a comparison. Lost a sale for the shop and saved me from making a mistake! Check those mounts. I'm gonna be doing it with oil changes. Only takes two 1" wrenches, and takes about 5 minutes. Well worth it........
