Got back out this afternoon, took this right before heading home to escape the thunderstorms that suddenly popped up out of no where... Beautiful day before that.

Torque spec for the rear axle changed, and the drill bit isnt used on the 08 dual discs like it used to be.

That all changed with the change in bearings in 08...No drill bit used on any model. Dual disc or not...the spacers changed widths and they are used to set the spacing on the Right Side...No more Drill bit

Well that was fun.
Brought in my wheel with the images from 08xl1200r on my ipad.
Service guy (not the tech, no techs on monday I guess) flat out told me, thats how its supposed to be.
But... pictures?
no. Mine is right. there is no adjustment on bearings. they go in, there are spacers, they dont move.
but Ill have a tech look at it tomorrow.
Now Ill have to call tomorrow and REMIND him what year and model my bike is since I was so flabbergasted I left without telling him.
called the store and asked to talk to the manager since 10 minutes later i was still reeling from my interaction. i mean talk about getting bulldozed.
Great impression to make the first time i bring something to them for service. a: get it wrong, b: flat out tell me, im wrong when i bring it back.

one of the managers just called, apparently he was behind me helping another customer with a service question while this went down and walked out with me mumbling to myself, so when i called the store and left a message for someone to call back, he did. Said its not how they want to do business and will 'take care of it' for me. makes me feel a little better

Rotor Side

Pulley side.

The problem is the pulley side is too far in, pushing the wheel to the right basically. which is exactly the case because it ate up the right hand side of my caliper bracket, and pulley was rubbing against the belt shield.

Yeah I know. It's too far in because he installed the 1st bearing from that side (pulley side)

I wanted to see the rotor side to confirm what it should look like when INCORRECTLY installed.

This might be easier for them to recognize that they F'd up (Depth differences)
