The Roadster had a bit of winter treatment to protect her from the heavily salted winter roads that we get. She stays outside (under a porch and a cover), so thought a treatment would help keep her tidy.

Swapped my Vance & Hines straightshots for some Screamin Eagle dual shorty's. Had a nice cool ride after dark this evening. It gets dark around 4:45 PM here (I hate it)!
I did love the sound of the straightshots for about the first 20 - 30 minutes, after that my ears would start ringing and my music would be either too loud or not loud enough to enjoy. Even wearing ear plugs or BT buds.
Even my FF helmet with speakers inside was almost useless at hiway speeds. I also couldnt hear music through the BT speakers I installed a while back.
With the Shorty's I can hear anything that I have going on even making phone calls with the FF helmet is now possible!
Very hard to explain in that the sound level in Db as measured before and after is not that much lower (maybe only 3 - 4 Db lower). The tone is a bit deeper also now. It is nowhere near as quiet as stock pipes though (which is good)! It still has that Harley sound just not obnoxiously loud with tinny overtones!
As soon as Spring comes (in about 6 months!) I will be ready for some nice long rides that were too uncomfortable to do last summer. My wife is also much happier as are the neighbors I'm sure.
I will ride this winter as long as the temp. is above 40 with no rain, which is a fair amount of the time around here at least it has been the past winters.
Candy-O (bike name) also seems happier and has a little more pick-up (response) and runs about 5 - 7 degrees cooler. Had I known that the shorty's could change her attitude that much I would of done it much sooner.
This is with running a stock map for these pipes with my FP3. I wonder if a auto tune would make it even better?
I'm in total love with her all over again!!
