Default 72 Sportster

I have the opportunity to buy a 72 Sportster that runs well, however needs some work. I'd like to tinker with her and fix it up for the wifey. How hard is it to get parts for a Harley this old?

Default RE: 72 Sportster

Harley,
I have a 72 myself. Most parts are pretty readily available. If you have a V-Twin Manufacturing Catalog or Jireh Cycles you'll be surprised how much stuff you can get for it. I am going to sell mine because I really don't have time to wrench on it. And I will guarantee you that you will have to work on the bike quite often. Also, the 72 is a right-hand shift which might or might not be a factor for you.
