Default Rick's rear light set

I'm thinking of fitting the rear light set from Rick's. The local dealer tells me that this will set off engine warning lights etc though. In fact they claim this will happen with any aftermarket set not just the Ricks ones.

Does anyone know if this is really the case or are they just being overly cautious?

Mine don't but I have heard the TBR Fender Eliminators do or at least throw codes. I'm just using Highsider Little Bronx 3-1 rears.

I bought my rear light from ebay- cost 100$- no codes no problems- except rerouting the stock cable was a bit of a hassel- but not too bad.

The cable and harness down on the swing arm where the factory tails plug in is just an extension. You can plug aftermarket lights in behind the plastic cover where you unlock the seat. Just as an fyi

Thanks. Sounds like there's some risk with the Ricks set but there's at least other options out there.

I may try them and report back if they cause an issue
