Stranded and Frustrated: Seeking Advice After My New Harley's Engine Failure

OPs bike is a Nightster Special, running the Rev Max motor, not the air cooled Evo motor.

He has a Nightster Special. Not a real Sportster as we know it. A turd is brown but its not chocolate ice cream.

well- since you are part of this forums 'community team' - why dont you get them to set up another sub forum for revmax nightster , so you dont get upset about it....

There is a forum for the new so-called “Sportster” already, look under Sportster S.
BTW, isn't it actually called a "Sportster S Nightster Special" by the factory? What a marketing word salad that is.
Similar to the new Ford “Mustang.” Same name, different animal.

You can argue that the mustang as it is now was evolutionary, no pun intended, whereas the hijacking of the Sportster name for this new bike is nothing more than a bold faced rip-off to supposedly help with sales.
The original air cooled Sportster was king of the hill and higher priced than any of it's British competition, a true American status symbol that every young guy who loved motorcycles lusted for!

Not being very familiar with that model and I realize that these security cameras don't offer the best quality sound but it sounds like metal on metal when you pull in on the first video like a lack of oil. How's the level?
Hope you get an answer soon.
Also I'd NEVER start a bike with a kid on it without having both of my hands on the handlebars, God forbid it accidentally pops into gear even if it is chained to a pole. But that's me

I didn't ask them for a loaner as I don't use the bike to commute to work. Finally I have good news that I will post in another reply.

Hey everyone, just a quick update on the situation. Yesterday, I received a call from the dealership informing me that a new engine will be shipped from Belgium in a couple of days. It will take a few days to arrive and some time to assemble. I should be back on the bike in a couple of weeks! Can't wait to have her back home and go for a ride.
When diagnosing the issue, the service department representative mentioned that one of the chains had slipped and snapped out of the sprocket. Actually, a piece broke off from the sprocket itself. The tensioner was also broken. I had suspected that the tensioner might have been plastic, but it turns out it was made of metal. I'm not sure what went wrong, but I can see light at the end of the tunnel.
