I can see a lot of pluses running the C/T . I will be running one on my Ultra this coming riding season. I’m in the starting stages of planning my holiday on the bike next year. Loaded up with two people and camping gear, the car tire is the way to go. There will always be the people that claim your hair will spontaneously ignite because you’re not running a bike tire. I hope that your experience is positive |

If you make the right tire choice for you riding style it pays off...Several of my riding friends really like it.

And what tire choice would that be?
We're planning a long trip for next year as well. One of the reasons I want to make it a comfy and safe ride. If I was worried about what others thought about me, I would just stay home and do nothing. Can't do that, not my way. |
Just finished insulating the garage attic...200 bundles of green fiber for an R value of R60. Now to clean it for the family coming over on Thursday. Then on Friday, start measuring and checking how things are going to line up.

Been a busy weekend. I was told this adventure wasn't for the feint of heart. I've been mocking this up since yesterday afternoon. Still need to get the alignment spacers right for the brake disc, wheel, and pulley.
Whew, glad I made it this far.https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hdf...676ee68340.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hdf...ae04e4eea2.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hdf...6746c79879.jpg |
Nice progress..keep us posted. Did you have to use spacers for you shocks? |
If the rear frame stays the same, then yes I'll have to use spacers for the rear shocks. However, after seeing the thin metal that the upper rear shock mounts are installed with, doesn't leave me with too good of a feeling to add spacers into the mix. I believe the added twist from the distance the shocks would be spaced out would not be a good thing.

Quick update. Went with the 09 tail section, part of it. Ordering a new belt and 21mm wide bearings today. Once the new bearings and belt come in, I'll get the spacing for the brake disc and the pulley as well as the alignment of the belt. And the tire will be flipped to the correct direction of rotation.

What are those on the fender...look like big cans ...in the place where the turn signals should be... |
They are indeed tail lights. Each one has 24 leds. I got tired of cagers pulling up close at stop lights.
