searching the internet about the Darkside...
After watching some videos, reading some articles, I find it humorous what folks are comparing.
They compare a car to a motorcycle, BMW to BMW in one article.
They compare a sports car to a sports bike.
I do not think car tires on a sports bike, with those lean angles is a good thing. *My opinion*
I do think a car tire can work on many cruiser type motorcycles that have limited leanangles.
Many touring riders are riding/traveling on overloaded 1300+ pound motorcycles, and will not have suspension left to lean to 33 degrees, much less approach 40 degrees.
I have yet to find any lengthy comparison of car tires on touring motorcycles.
I found it funny on the comparisons used. As it to set the stage for the car tires to fail. It is as if folks are afraid of being sued if they state that car tire could work for some motorcycles. You know someone will sue.
I will see how the newer tires last on my 2019 Harley FLHTP and decide on my actions at that time. And I'll probably try the Metzeler 888 after the Dunlop American Eagles wear out.
I will mount and balance my own car tire. so if it doesn't feel "right" to me after 500-1000 miles, I go back to a motorcycle tire.
