Back in mid-'08 I slipped down a ladder on my last ship one morning, while in Guam on a port visit, while escorting 2 fellow sailors back to the ship. Starting from the 2nd rung of the ladder (stairs for you Non-Navy types), I slid down about 20 hardened steel steps / rungs, all on my right side! Luckily I didn't break anything, except my pride. But I DID manage to mess up my right ankle, right hip, ribs, elbow, and wrist. The bruise on the hip was there for about 2 months, and turned every shade of red - blue - purple - green - and yellow you can imagine. And the BAD/ LAUGHABLE part about it - I wasn't even DRUNK! Hadn't been drinking AT ALL that night! Still have a slight problem with my right knee from it. But the VA is taking care of it for me with Disability and medical treatment when I need it.
Maybe JRO71 could use a Stay Puff Marshmallow Man suit.
Kinda like in Ghost Busters.
You can NEVER be too safe now a days.

2 of my most embarressing incidents:
Walking out of restaurant after diinner, heading to the car. I forgot we were on a sidewalk. Walked right off the curb and landed in the roadway. Landed on my fist and broke a rib.
Riding my 10 speed, palming the handlebars with one hand, adjusting the GPS / Computer with the other. Hit a road reflector and went over the bars. My feet were clipped to the pedals so I just had to go with the bike. Landed on my fist and broke two ribs.

Different kind of GPS..... my 10 speed (technically it's a 20 speed) is a professional racing bike that weighs only 15 pounds. The GPS measures speed, distance, heart rate, as well as averages. Gives the time of sunrise / sunset, elevation (lot of good that does in South Florida), caloris burned. All by satellite... it does everything EXCEPT give me directions. But I can upload my ride to google maps and it will plot it for me and wherever I point along the route it shows me how fast I was going in that spot.
