30 Years Ago Today:

I was in 6th grade at Elizabeth Hudson Elementary school in Long Beach, CA. We walked into class and the teacher had the TV setup for us to watch the coverage

How many Woods ride Ultras? Or any bike with rear speakers? Wondering if it is worth the investment to buy the pod to go on the back rest or tour pack.

I replaced my front speakers with the Hog Tunes ones and they are better than stock, but still need an amp for best performance. For me, the first sound that drops out when riding is the bass.

I never use the sound system on my bike unless I'm just putting around at lower speeds. If I'm on the road for a while I use ear buds and listen to the music on my cell phone. Otherwise, by the time I stop my ears are ringing from the combination of pipes, wind, and speakers.

I already have hearing loss thanks to many years of bikes, guns, loud rock and roll, and farm equipment.

Marculus,
I had an '09 Ultra with rear speakers. With a stock system it was not a critical matter in my opinion - especially at highway speeds.
Maybe if your rider was really into tunes, or you were going to pump some more wattage through it....it might be a bigger factor.
I don't miss rear speakers...... My opinion.

Working. I had a contract with a developer installing HVAC systems in new construction homes. I didn't hear about it until I came in that evening.

Truly tragic event.
