4th! I thought that would be way too high. I tried 2nd on my 1200 once, skid, skid, skid... Now I carry one of those little lithium ion batteries. On flat ground, I'd never get enough speed up to bump start a Harley, to decrepit to manage that now.

Battery is good, changed both relays, checked connections, cleaned up the copper disc in the solenoid....I don't know. It was doing this before Maggie Valley never had a problem while I was down there. Parked it last night and this morning was click...click...

Another hot one today. Close to 90 out now. Sun shine now but computer says rain in 1/2 hour. Radar shows rain about 30 miles west of here. Hoping for rain. Would cool it off a little.

When it's clicking, does it kill the headlight? I've had batteries that would charge to 13V, but put a starter load on them, they'd quickly drop to 9 or less, and the headlight would go out. I've brought back one battery that did that with a "smart" reconditioning charger, but on another battery that didn't work.

You need one of those starter solenoid coversthat has the push button built right into it.

Had one of those on the Tour Glide, works great. Shortly before I took it apart, the bar button gave up, just clicked.

It''s a cover that replaces the one on your starter solenoid. as a push button on it that makes direct contact with the solenoid disc and will allow the starter to crank. JP Cycles has them...drag specialties....etc...
