If a bank is stupid enough to finance anyone HD gets paid in full either way, why would they care?

Did you guys know there's a statute of limitations on debt? You can put the bike in storage and let the clock run out.

Your question doesn't stand, it confuses.

Did you guys know that debt is a legal obligation wherein you promised to repay what you borrowed, and that's what an honorable person actually does?

Seriously, W T F?

You are correct Fat Bob, but that "honorable thing to do" has died here in America. Just look at all the people that bought houses they could no afford then the bubble burst leaving the tax payers to rescue the banks. Look at all the push to forgive college loans when people like me scrimped and saved to send 3 kids to college. Look at the millions of Americans who maxed out credit cards only to default. It's now the new norm I'm afraid. Live beyond you means, and deal with it later. Just like the Federal Government who spends more than they take in.

Like hell it has. There may be more dishonorable cheats, liars, and deadbeats, but they aren't Americans, they're just people who live here. We still have plenty of entrepreneurs, veterans, Green Berets, and good Samaritans in this place. You may have to move to find 'em, but there's whole swaths of this country that are still fully red-blooded America. I was absolutely reinvigorated in my belief on that when I took a cross-country trip (Houston to Milwaukee) through the heartland a few years ago.

Those aren't "Americans". Those are dumbasses. Idiots who don't understand that hard work and honor are intrinsic American values. Americans aren't people who want something for nothing, and those who do aren't Americans.

It's now the new norm I'm afraid.
Only if you let it be. Just like rampant lawlessness is "the new norm", but it sure as hell isn't the norm where I live. My county borders one of the lawless areas. Our sheriff took out a billboard at the county line, it said "ATTENTION CRIMINALS: THIS ISN'T XXX COUNTY. THIS IS XYZ COUNTY. WE PROSECUTE AND INCARCERATE CRIMINALS."

Why did Trump pardon Mayor Kilpatrick if what you just said is true? Then explain one more time why the rules should only apply to me. Kilpatrick was convicted.
