You are correct Fat Bob, but that "honorable thing to do" has died here in America. Just look at all the people that bought houses they could no afford then the bubble burst leaving the tax payers to rescue the banks. Look at all the push to forgive college loans when people like me scrimped and saved to send 3 kids to college. Look at the millions of Americans who maxed out credit cards only to default. It's now the new norm I'm afraid. Live beyond you means, and deal with it later. Just like the Federal Government who spends more than they take in.
