Default Helmet quick release for bearded men

Its hard to look cool when every time we put on or take off our helmet, we cry like a little bitch.

What's the consensus on quick releases? Particularly the Echo, which seems to be the most popular and is DOT/Snell approved.

PS, yes, I'm a HUGE believer in being as safe as possible, would prefer double-D-rings if they didn't rip my precious few beard hairs out every time

Looking forward to comments, questions, and snide remarks.

Don

Tough to find but a ratchet system like those on a Akoury helmet, works great for me! The link is to a plastic version, the Akoury is all metal.

does this type require any modification to the straps?

I use this type for several years because it doesnt require any modification to the straps, but I like the idea of the ratchet

Not sure this will help but Nolan has best latching system IMO very easy to use.

I'm not sure, my Akoury helmets have the ratchet system installed (like Nolan). It doesn't appear either company offer it as a accessory. The link I posted for the aftermarket set does say they need cut and resewn.

I agree about the Nolan helmet quick release, I've used the ebay one shown above and it's fine but the Nolan latch is top shelf in my book.

Haven't and won't use one without it since 2007.

Shave.

I wouldn't use a plastic piece that likely won't stay together during "helmet use."

D-rings have been tested and have passed those tests.

I have a Shoei NEOTEC II... It has a quick release chin strap and has almost zero wind noise.
