Thank You ABATE

My issue with ABATE is the same issue I have for Rolling Thunder. I appreciate the work that they do for their intended causes, however they use lobbyists. I feel that the us of lobbyists is one of the big problems in this country. Why? Because in one form or another they try to buy votes. Yes that is a broad paintbrush I am using but it is true. Taking congressmen and senators to lunch, golf outings or what ever else they supply is buying votes to me.

I have been a AMA member for 10 years. I joined ABATE of Wisconsin, after WACO. They have different focuses, so I am glad I am supporting both. Lots of peoples are anti Motorcycle. Divide and conquer.

I see you've bashed ABATE in a couple of threads. Because one Chapter has a less than desirable member ( President ) that makes the whole organization? If so wouldn't that make you a member of a less than desirable element of society based on the 1% ers of the world. Just asking?

Love it!!
Still call it this too.
"A Brotherhood Against Totalitarian Enactments"
It because of ABATE(thank you) as well as 1%er's (thank you) who help to keep our rights intact.
Don't ask, cause if I have to explain you wouldn't understand, let alone get it.
Gotta give credit where credit is due!
Thank you!
Right on!!

I'm a life member in Iowa and been involved off and on since 1985. Currently I'm the "webmaster" for district 5 (a position I actually created for myself) because I felt it was something that needed to be done. Interest in ABATE tends to be fleeting and/or limited however they've had a strong political impact which you can see is obvious if you've looked at a helmet law map of the U.S. within the last 40 years or so. I'm proud of the things ABATE has accomplished and the organization is dear to my heart.
Next year however, I'm planning a move to Utah and although I've poked around a little I'm not certain what organizations or groups I may want to be part of there yet.
