Default its nice to know

even from this side of the world i saw the westboro madness several yrs ago and hoped that something would be done to stop them . whilst i saw many here with the PGR i didnt actually know what it was about till now .

wow ! its good to know that an organisation exists to ensure dignity at a funeral .

do you guys ever get involved in keeping media away from the westboro idiots ? seems they would die alot quicker of you never saw them again on tv . absolute nutters !

well done

Actually, we keep both the media and the Westboro idiots away from the family of the fallen and the military escort personnel when asked. While I agree with your point of view, I don't think the PGR has any vested interest in what the media does in regard to the Westboro flakes.

I can say I have chatted with a lot of reporters over the years about the UG's and have seen a significant drop in the coverage they get even to the point where they weren't mentioned at some funerals. But the press will do what the press will do.

I like that idea of separateing the media from the wbc but that wouldnt fly in the eyes of the law here. The goal of the PGR is to shield the family from wbc and the media if requested by the family. The news coverage of military funerals is done respectfully by most accounts. The need to shield the family just from the media would be from the stupid questions some my ask of the family. Many have learned through the suggestion of the unit or the funeral home to have a family representative to speak on the familys behalf.
