Ditto here also. I found it's the only way I can get on it with my back the way it is.

Of course it depends on the ease of movement of the individual and their particular limitations but most of us turn the bars full left for stability of the bike, so that leaves more room to execute a step through from the right side, with a tourpak mounted.
Good point on the bike less likely to be upset if inadvertently pushed on from the right side as well.
Without the tourpak mounted, I'll mount from whatever side is convenient at the time.

Bad left hip, doc says about 8/10th of the way there out of what he's seen needing replacement. But I mount and dismount my Ultra conventionally.

Two of my previous rides were dual sports - a KTM 990 and a BMW GSA. The KTM was relatively upright on the side stand, so with side stand mount relocated off of engine case, I used the left peg and swung over. On the BMW, I used the right peg, and the bike was just about upright once I was on. Both of these were Everest high.

my bike may not be a kick Start but it definitely is a kick stop as I too inevitably kick something dismounting.

+1 on the cowboy mount. Learned to do it before my hip replacement, now just a matter of habit...

Try being 5' 8" with barely a 28" inseam. When I had my Ultra the speaker pods hated me. LOL

I'm glad I'm not the only one with issues mounting and dismounting although I'm improving.

Same here. I've been doing the step through from the right, but I may try the 'cowboy" mount.

My wife and kids mount and dismount from the left. I've had to turn my face to hide my laugh watching my wife get on and off a few times, but she has gotten better at it as well.
