Need advice on handlebars

10" bars are as high as you can go and still have functioning stock SG mirrors. Any higher and your hands will block the mirrors and render them useless. 12" bars will get you just barely high enough to peek under your hand controls and have a limited view from your mirrors and your hands will be right at the top edge of the fairing. There are lots of threads on handlebars loaded with pics and descriptions of their bars. I suggest you use the search function and go from there.

14"s will be well above the fairing. However, once you ride a bike with your hands high like you are a monkey hanging from a tree limb you will never go back to low bars again. I never thought I would like them but I won't ever go low again. When I get too old to ride a motorcycle and have to resort to one of those 3 wheel bicycles with the cart on the back to haul my oxygen tank around the old folks home it will have some high up apes for handlebars. Also my fairing mounted mirrors are fully visible with the 14" bars, way more so than with the stock bars. 10, 11, 12", you will cover those mirrors up with your arms.
