Get a sanding wheel for a Dremel and file out the openings on the cover where the handlebars exit. The round sanding wheel will make it easy to keep the same rounded contour and it will look great.

Make sure you use a lower/medium speed. If you run the Dremel on high, you can damage the chrome.

Unless you are planning crazy HP down the road, I'd consider going back to belt. I've had plenty of both and the HD belt drive is much nicer, smoother, quieter, and virtually maintenance free...you're going to be lubing that chain regularly...and cleaning chain lube off your bike...it's annoying with a light, easy access sport bike....I can't imagine how annoying it will be on a RK with bags.

Looks like a very cool project. Can't wait to see your finished bike.

That is a BRIGHT bike. LOL. Looks good so far. Subscribed so i can see final product. Bet it will look really nice when your done with it.

Ok so back at it. Wheels done swing arm done.
Tranny powdercoated all new bearings. Fork lowers powdercoated installed progressive monotubes.

Couple more pics. Tranny going in tomorrow.
