Mine are tips up from the previous owner. I was going to turn them over but the bottom is all scratched up from hitting. Decide which way you want them before you hit something and you are stuck with them that way.
I've already decided what I'm going to do regardless of everyone's opinion. I was just curious to see what the majority would choose, that's all. Thanks for the opinions.
When I bought the Monster Ovals, I installed them slash up to align with the bags, but when I installed the new tips from Vance and Hines, I flipped them slash down instead because I was grinding them occasionally coming out of my driveway. I think I like the change.
To me the Slash up looks good from the side being in line with the bags but doesn't look as good as Slash down does from the rear. Muffler shape and tip design has a bearing too. Big Louie's look best to me Slash Up from the side and the rear. The oval shape on yours could go either way.
Slash up, but if you make that choice, be prepared to stick with it. The reason I say this is because I had Rinehart 3.5" with Performance Machine Slash Cut tips. I had the slash up to match the contour of the bags, but as others have mentioned, I scraped the **** out of the under side of them, especially coming out of driveways whole making a hard right. YMMV
I personnel like the slash up as they follow the angle of the bags. I have the Big Louies slash ups.
Nice looking King btw.
My thoughts exactly... and I have the same mufflers.
I hate slash downs.... looks silly to me.
But to each his own. If everyone were super intelligent and liked the same thing, there would be a LOT of blacked out Amber Whisky/Vivid Black Limiteds out there....
