I would definitely need one helluva good deal to buy a 17 right now. Actually, in truth I wouldn't do it. The big changes are coming for sure. I believe it will be for 2018. But even if I'm wrong, it will be soon.

I keep hearing of deals on leftover 16's but there are not many touring bikes that I ran across when I was looking back in April. A lot of dyna's and soft tails can be had though.

There's still '16's around here. A ton of '17's also.
Deals are scarce as hens teeth however.

Well of course the Moco will always try to make it look like they're doing us a favor by even allowing us to buy their bikes. But, with that attitude these days, there will be a lot of two year old "new" bikes in the showrooms.

Hell I have an opportunity to buy a brand new 2016. Yes you heard me right. Sparkling new 2016 touring bike.

I LOVE the 103 and want to move up from my Heritage......and get an absolute steal in the process.

The Twin Cam is a proven design. And the honest to God truth is, I rode with a buddy who has a 17 RK Special and my bike (14 SGS) ran with him just fine even when he was getting on it. So enjoy the new bike!

Btw - gotta ask - how much?

I'd rather have one of the last versions of anything Harley produces vs the first thing. HD doesn't have a good track record with the first thing. I'm headed out on a 4 or 5k trip next week. My hope is that those miles are as trouble free as Harley's "million miles of testing" that differs greatly from customers who've had to replace engines in less than a thousand miles.

Do you mean that as a good thing or a bad thing? Do you expect H-D to put extra Anniversary love into the 2018's, or do you think they'll plaster them with tacky "115th Anniversary!" badges?
