No spark
 

Have you tried the run off switch on the right side of your handle bars. It could have been damaged when the previous owner laid it over. Just a thought. Relays do go bad, my did, but only happened when the bike was hot. Changed
the relay that is located in front of the battery box with one from a local parts store 12 years ago and the RK is still running without any hic-ups.

Thanks, yes I have checked all fuses and NO security on this bike. I'll double check the emc connection.

I have an 08 so this might not apply, but the frames are the same so it might. On mine, the wire from the crank position sensor runs underneath the front frame cross member. About centered under the cross member is a plug that connects it to the rest of the wiring harness. In almost 90,000 miles I have NEVER had a clean oil filter change. No matter what I try to do, some oil drips on the front engine mount and down onto that plug. If it has never been separated and both sides sprayed with degreaser, it might be so gooey that the CPS signal is not getting to the ECM. If you decide to replace the CPS you will have to separate that plug anyway. Cleaning and reconnecting is practically free so it is worth a try.

Just wanted to give an update.


The issue was the Crank Position Sensor. I bought a new one, slung it on and BAM the plugs had spark. Bike fired right up and runs great now.
